The Activity Feed Only Knows What Gets Logged
Pipeline CRM runs on its activity feed. It is where a manager checks whether a lead was called, where a rep looks before a follow-up, and what reports count. The weak link is the phone. A rep who makes forty calls a day will not type up forty activities, so the feed ends up showing a fraction of the real work, and missed calls and voicemails almost never make it in.
Kixie closes that gap by logging calls for the rep. Once Kixie and Pipeline CRM are connected, every call Kixie handles is written to the matching Pipeline person as an activity, with the details a manager needs to trust it.
Connect It Once
Setup has two sides. In Pipeline CRM, an admin opens Settings, Other, App Store, installs Kixie, and pastes in the Kixie Business ID and API key. Both come from Manage, Account Settings, Integrations in the Kixie dashboard, which needs Kixie admin access. Test Connection confirms the keys work. On the Kixie side, reps add Pipeline CRM in the PowerCall dialer’s CRM settings so PowerCall can look up Pipeline people during calls.
Each rep should also enter the phone number they use in Kixie under Profile, My Profile, Phone Number in Pipeline CRM. To confirm everything is wired up, check Manage, Automations, Webhooks in Kixie for two webhooks pointing to integrations.pipelinecrm.com, then call a test person.
Decide How Calls Look in Pipeline
The Phone Settings tab in the Kixie integration lets you pick an activity category for each type of call: completed incoming, completed outgoing, missed incoming, missed outgoing, incoming voice messages, and voicemails your reps leave. One Phone Call category for everything is the simple choice. Separate categories pay off in reporting, because you can count missed inbound calls or voicemails left without opening each activity. Once the mapping is saved, toggle the integration to Enabled to go live.
What Each Call Carries
Every call activity includes the call duration, the recording link, the phone numbers, and the rep. The outcome a rep picks in the Kixie PowerCall dialer logs as a separate activity, with the rep’s notes attached, so the feed shows both that a call happened and how it went.
Know the Matching Rules
Kixie finds the person by phone number. Three rules are worth sharing with your team. When two people share a number, Kixie logs to the most recently created one, so merge duplicates. Kixie cannot search custom phone fields, so keep numbers in the standard fields. And when no one matches, Kixie can create a new person for you, a setting you control in the Kixie dashboard.
Context Before the Rep Says Hello
Logging works in the other direction too. On inbound and outbound calls, PowerCall shows the Pipeline person with a link to open the record, so the rep knows who is calling. During the call, reps can update the person’s name and email, log the outcome, and schedule the next call activity without leaving the dialer. Kixie’s PowerDialer works the same way when reps dial through lists, covered on the Pipeline CRM power dialer page.
Texts can log the same way once SMS is turned on. See Pipeline CRM SMS with Kixie for the setup, or the Kixie and Pipeline CRM integration overview for everything else.
