Your Call List Already Lives in Close
Close teams build their call lists as Smart Views: saved searches like new inbound leads from this week, trials that never booked a demo, or leads in a status nobody has touched in ten days. The view updates itself as leads change, which makes it the natural source for who should get a call today. The question for a team that calls with Kixie is how to get those leads onto a rep’s dialer without exporting a CSV every morning.
The answer is a small Zapier connection. Kixie does not have a native Close connector, so nothing appears inside Close’s settings. Instead, Close’s Zapier trigger watches the Smart View, and Kixie’s Zapier action drops each new lead into a Kixie PowerList that reps dial with the Kixie PowerDialer.
Set Up the Zap
Start with the trigger. Close offers New Lead in Smart View for lead lists and New Contact in Contact Smart View for contact lists. Both are polling triggers, so Zapier checks the view on your Zapier plan’s schedule. Then add Kixie’s Add to PowerList action and connect it with your Kixie API key and Business ID, which an admin finds under Manage, Account Settings, Integrations.
Map the fields that matter to the rep. The PowerList ID comes from Manage, PowerLists in the Kixie dashboard. Map the contact’s phone number, and add up to 5 numbers if your Close contacts carry more than one. Put something useful in the Next Call Refresher, such as the lead description, so the rep sees context before the call connects. Set Duplicate Handling to Merge or Ignore so a lead that appears twice does not get dialed twice.
Dial It the Kixie Way
Once leads are in the PowerList, reps log in and click Start Dialing. On the Multi-Line PowerDialer plan, Kixie dials up to 4 lines at a time. Admins control the pace per list with settings like Dial at a Time, Minimum Duration Before Call Retry, and daily max attempts, so a lead is not called five times before lunch.
Priorities help when you feed more than one Smart View. Give your newest inbound view a Highest priority PowerList and an older nurture view a Low one. Reps dial every eligible number in higher priority lists first. With Next PowerList, a contact moves down to the next list after a set number of attempts, so fresh leads always come first.
Take Leads Out When Close Says They Are Done
A good list is also about who is not on it. Build a second Zap with Close’s New Opportunity in Status trigger, pick your Won and Lost statuses, and add Kixie’s Remove From All PowerLists action. It needs only the phone number. New Lead in Status works the same way for disqualified leads. Close’s status triggers are instant, so the number leaves every PowerList as soon as the status changes.
Inside Kixie, dispositions handle the rest. A PowerList rule can remove a contact when a rep saves an outcome like Not Interested, or forward it to another PowerList or a Cadence for follow up.
Close the Loop With Logging
Dialing is half the job. To see those calls on the Close lead, set up the logging path in the Close setup guide: Kixie’s End Call webhook sends each call to Zapier or your own code, which finds the lead by phone number and creates the call in Close with the duration, recording link, and outcome.
For leads that need a call the moment they arrive instead of on the next dialing session, see speed to lead for Close. For every other way to connect the two, start at the Kixie and Close integration overview.
