Zoho Ships Real Call AI. Start There.
Plenty of vendor pages get this wrong, so let’s be precise: Zia Call Intelligence is a real Zoho CRM feature. It transcribes call recordings into text, then layers on sentiment analysis, customer intent and emotion, a one-line summary of the conversation, customer satisfaction and politeness scores, and keyword highlights across the transcript. Teams that have it running get real value from it. If a competitor tells you Zoho cannot analyze sales calls, that claim is simply wrong.
The honest question is different: what has to be true in your org before Zia produces its first insight, and what does it still not measure once it does?
The Fine Print Behind Zia for Calls
The edition and the data center. Zoho lists Zia Call Intelligence as available for Professional edition and above, across all data centers except JP. Teams on Standard or below, or hosted in the JP data center, do not have it at any price inside Zoho CRM.
The recording source. Zia analyzes call recordings, so call recording must be enabled in your telephony integration before transcription can start. Zoho’s documentation says transcription works with all telephony providers except a short published exclusion list, and Zia validates a recent recording’s format before it starts. Kixie is not on that exclusion list, so Zia can be pointed at Kixie-logged calls once recording is on.
The cap. Zia call transcription is limited to 18,000 minutes per organization per month, admins cap the duration of calls that qualify, and the Google transcription engine is billed per minute. High-volume outbound calling teams should do that math before counting on full coverage.
The measurements. Zia’s summary is a single line, and its scores rate customer satisfaction and politeness. Useful for service quality, but there is no agent talk ratio and no sales-coaching score to rank the week’s calls by.
Kixie’s Intelligence Layer Covers Every Kixie Call
Kixie removes the edition and volume conditions because the dialer that places and records the call is also the analysis layer. Every recorded Kixie call gets a full transcript separated by speaker, an AI-generated summary, sentiment analysis, agent talk ratio, keyword detection, and an overall call score, all covered in depth on the conversation intelligence feature page. The analysis runs on Kixie’s platform, so it works the same whether your Zoho org is on Standard or Ultimate, in any data center, with no Zoho transcription limit in the way. Recordings stay attached to the logged call with included cloud storage, detailed on the Zoho call recording page.
The results also land where Zoho teams already work. Kixie logs every call to the matching Zoho Lead or Contact, AI-generated call summaries sync to the CRM record with the logged call, outcomes and notes land as closed tasks, and activity synced to a Contact mirrors to its associated Account. The matching and logging mechanics, including how Kixie picks the right record, are documented on the automatic call logging page.
Dispositions Plus Intelligence: Coaching by Outcome
Every Kixie call carries a disposition, and that pairing is what turns analysis into a coaching system. A manager filters for the outcomes that matter, such as completed demos or competitor objections, then reviews the scored and summarized calls behind them: sort by call score, open the outliers at both ends, and coach from the transcript moments behind the number. Keyword tracking shows which reps keep hitting the same pricing objection, and sentiment trends flag at-risk accounts before the pipeline report does. Because outcomes land as closed tasks, Zoho workflows can act on them automatically, sending the follow-up email or creating the next task while the review happens.
Where This Fits, Including Alongside Zia
If your org already runs Zia Call Intelligence, Kixie coexists with it: Zia keeps working exactly as Zoho configured it, while Kixie covers the outbound calling side with its own recording and analysis, synced back to the same records. Manager review lives where the deal lives, on the Zoho Lead, Contact, and Account, instead of in a separate tool nobody opens. Start with the Zoho integration overview for setup, logging, and texting details, then let the first week of scored calls show you where the coaching time should go.
